EY announced the Top Nominees of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (EOY) 2024 Malaysia awards today.

The 13 Top Nominees in the Emerging, Technology, Woman and Master categories were determined by an independent panel of judges guided by a set of judging criteria that is consistently applied globally by the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) programme.

The EOY 2024 Malaysia Top Nominees are:

Emerging Entrepreneur category:

  • Thomas Pui Wee Hua, Ts Vic Pui Wee Kong and Yanni Ching Xin Yan – Entomal Biotech Sdn. Bhd.
  • Tzong Lee and Zara Lee – Trapo Marketing Sdn. Bhd.

Technology Entrepreneur category:

Winners of the four categories, as well as the coveted EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Malaysia award, will be announced and celebrated at an awards ceremony later in December. The Malaysian EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 will then join other country award recipients from around the globe in June 2025 to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year (WEOY) 2025 award in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

At the event, the team at EY also hosted a forum titled “Minds and Machines: The Convergence of AI and Human Potential Flow”. The panelists included Dato’ Kamarul A Muhamed, Datin Habsah Nordin, Head of Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence, PETRONAS and EY.ai, a secure large language model with AI chat capability for EY people to ideate, research and create. The session was moderated by Adrian Chew, EY Asean Artificial Intelligence and Data Leader at Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn. Bhd.

The session highlighted the importance of integrating AI language models to enhance work efficiency and speed, while also acknowledging and navigating their limitations.
