EY M&A advisor to Andel on 2 GW solar Joint Venture with Better Energy

Andel and Better Energy have entered into a 50/50-partnership to realize 15 solar projects in Denmark with a target capacity of 2 GW.

The Joint Venture – with a planned solar PV capacity of 2 GW and a potential annual production to cover the annual consumption of more than 1.3 million Danes – will establish several projects across Denmark. The parties will each own 50% of the solar parks, and Better Energy will be responsible for the development, construction, operation and management of the projects. The first four projects of c. 750 MWp will be located in DK2, and are anticipated to start construction later this year. If all 15 projects are established, the total portfolio is expected to be operational by the end of 2027.

The transaction is an important milestone in Denmark’s climate goals as well as Andel’s strategy to increase its renewable production capacity – in which EY has been involved in from the very beginning through project origination to transaction completion in order to support this ambition.

EY acted as exclusive financial advisor to Andel as well as provided tax and accounting advisory services to support Andel in entering the long-term partnership. The transaction highlights EY’s capabilities in providing first-class, sector specialized corporate finance advisory along with EY’s leading position in the energy sector to accelerate the energy transition.
