EY is pleased to announce that the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ (EOY) 2024 program is open for nominations, marking its 19th year. This year’s program, with its theme of “Elevating excellence for a new innovative era”, aims to identify and recognize entrepreneurs who have the courage to explore and innovate new quality productive forces to steer China’s economy on a new path. By highlighting the “quality” accomplishments of these entrepreneurs, the program aims to contribute entrepreneurial spirit and insights to further China’s high-quality social and economic development.

Jack Chan, EY China Chairman and EY Greater China Regional Managing Partner, says: ”We are now at a critical turning point towards optimizing economic structure, modifying development mode and transforming driving forces since we know that only innovation will win. The Two Sessions in March this year introduced a concept of ‘new quality productive forces’ that highlights ‘new’ and ‘quality’, that is, to develop new impetus for economic growth with advanced productive forces. To adapt to the changing world, private entrepreneurs yearn for innovation in terms of technical advancement. Their role is crucial in utilizing new elements and forging new driving forces to lead and develop new industries, raceways, businesses and models, in an effort to enhance the modern economy with high-quality development and pave the Chinese path to modernization.”

As one of the world’s most prestigious business accolades for entrepreneurs, the EOY program has grown to 79 countries and regions, and is designed to recognize entrepreneurs who inspire others with their outstanding vision, leadership and achievement, advance entrepreneurship to new heights and build a broader platform for deepened cooperation and exchanges among entrepreneurs. At the launching ceremony of the EOY 2024 program, past winners and judges from the independent judging panel were invited to share insights on the theme of “Stimulating consumption through transformative times”. They also discussed the transformation driven by new quality productive forces and actions taken among entrepreneurs, contributing wisdom and solutions to elevating excellence and cultivating new competitive advantages to build an innovative world.

Michael Bi, EOY 2024 Program Co-chairman and EY Greater China Markets Managing Partner, says: “New quality productive forces are the source for the sustainability of enterprises and a solid foundation of the Chinese path to modernization. In the critical period of transitioning to high-quality development, accelerating replacement of old growth drivers with new ones, it is crucial to highlight and advocate the spirit of private entrepreneurs who are bold and willing to pursue excellence and grow with the society. We hope that entrepreneurs would never stop opening up new fields for growth and shaping new drives for development.”

William Huang, EOY 2024 Program Co-chairman and EY China South Managing Partner, says: “The EOY program has been dedicated to serving entrepreneurs for communication and cooperation towards the social and economic development in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong and Macau since its inauguration in 2006. With the theme of ‘Elevating excellence for a new innovative era’, the 2024 program aims to recognize and encourage entrepreneurs leading their business and industry for qualitative leaps and boosting the innovation of China’s private economy.”

The 2024 program is centered on “new” and “quality”, with a judging criteria conform to a single global standard, including entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact. The independent panel of judges comprising business leaders, experts and past winners will decide on the winners through a muliti-dimensional evaluation on achievements in innovation leadership, sustainable practices in value creation, and efforts to pursue entrepreneurial spirit to adapt to the changing world.

The EOY 2024 program is now open for nominations. The nomination brochure and nomination form can be downloaded at Entrepreneur Of The Year™. EY invites people from all circles of life to nominate outstanding business leaders. Together, let’s work to protect and promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the new era, stimulate the vitality of market players, and support the nation’s high-quality development strategy.
