Areas of focus

Paula is an EY FAAS Partner and Brazil IFRS 17 Leader. She has begun her career at another firm, where she worked from 2005 to 2013. During this period, she audited insurance companies before moving to Capital Markets. Prior to joining EY, she worked at the insurance industry and was responsible for US GAAP reporting, managing local and international accounting, tax, reinsurance and FP&A departments.

She participated in the IFRS convergence process of the insurance market in Brazil, by preparing gap analysis, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and providing technical advisory where she gained experience with IFRS. She prepared IFRS training for the insurance market and clients.

She holds a degree in Accounting Sciences from Universidade Paulista, a certification in IFRS by ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and an Executive MBA from Business School São Paulo.

Paula sees a better working world as something that permeates all our actions and decisions, our relationship with customers, our people and the community. Every decision to change is an opportunity for improvement and I help clients to have a different outlook towards accounting and not treat accounting as just a compliance obligation.
