Robert is Indochina Tax Leader and Senior Partner, Tax, EY Consulting Vietnam Joint Stock Company, with more than 25 year-experienced in tax across sectors including consumer products, energy and infrastructure.
Robert has worked in Australia (Sydney and Perth), Great Britain (London), Croatia, Slovenia, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Working in a number of different markets and roles has given Robert a broad range of tax experience in both mature and maturing markets. He uses his experience to help a diverse range of clients, from multinational giants in well-developed markets to smaller companies from maturing markets.
His technical expertise and strong industry insight drive his highly pragmatic approach to client relationship management. As a full-service advisor, he provides support ranging from general corporate tax advice and compliance to more in-depth planning and structuring for major new investments, acquisitions, divestment, and financing.
Robert joined a global audit firm’s tax practice in Sydney after graduating with a BCom/LLB from the University of NSW in 1994. He then joined Ernst & Young’s mining, energy and utilities group following the merger with Arthur Andersen in 2002.
Robert has been based in Vietnam since 2015 and brings his international tax expertise and general experience to assist clients in navigating the complex tax environment in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
Robert is admitted as a legal practitioner by the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
