The programme is for Year 13/S6 (in Scotland) as well as all students in all years of their undergraduate degree.
This programme is also aimed at students who come from a low socio-economic background. By low socio-economic background we mean that one or more of the following applies to you:
- You are attending / attended a state school or college AND
- Your immediate family did not attend university OR
- You are (or have been eligible) for free school meals OR
- The occupation of your main household earner when you were aged 14 is categorised as being a technical and craft occupation; a routine*, semi-routine manual and service occupation*; or long-term unemployed* (please see below for further guidance on these definitions)
*Technical and craft occupations such as: motor mechanic, plumber, printer, electrician, gardener, train driver.
Routine, semi-routine manual and service occupations such as: postal worker, machine operative, security guard, caretaker, farm worker, catering assistant, sales assistant, HGV driver, cleaner, porter, packer, labourer, waiter/waitress, bar staff.
Long-term unemployed (claimed Jobseeker’s Allowance or earlier unemployment benefit for more than a year).
