How’s it structured?
Developing your understanding of local and global clients, how they operate, and the relevant tax considerations is at the heart of this programme. You'll be able to kick-start your professional career in a place where there is a wide range of opportunities to learn, grow, challenge yourself and be challenged in a workplace that is dynamic, exciting, and supportive.
Whether you join UK&I or FS, you’ll be learning on-the-job, have access to coaching and training opportunities and be motivated to work on multiple projects through wide-ranging client engagements. You'll be fully supported to study towards your professional qualification that includes classroom, online learning, and self-study. Our culture will help you to thrive and develop, and balance study and exams alongside client commitments.
Year 1 - Your first year will be spent understanding how businesses operate and the tax issues associated with them. You'll also begin studying for your professional qualification and bespoke training. You'll have a lot of support and will build your technical knowledge by assisting Seniors with tax work while working alongside offshore support (where relevant).
Year 2 - You'll continue studying for your professional qualification and technical learning. You will also be gaining invaluable experience through technical tax work and working directly with Managers and above. You will be assisting and delegating work to new joiners or offshore resources and taking on more responsibility on elements of engagements and interacting directly with clients.
Year 3 - You'll continue to build technical and professional skills and apply them to client projects, whilst coaching new joiners and developing skills for the future. This is the year in which you would traditionally complete your professional qualification, and prepare for your role as fully qualified Tax Advisor (or Senior Consultant).
Once you join, you'll be part of a full EY induction where you will meet other graduates and become part of a supportive community. You'll also be introduced to the many EY networks and learn about wider projects, wellbeing initiatives, corporate responsibility involvement, office social events, sports teams and more. This will help you build your professional network and understand the wider support available to you.
After the programme is complete, you'll have the opportunity to continue developing technical, professional and leadership skills and if all goes well, you could be on track for promotion.
