Ronny Skauen is steering the boating industry toward innovation and sustainability.
Born into both a country and a family with a deep love of the sea, Ronny Skauen was destined to become a boating enthusiast. Like many Norwegians, Ronny grew up immersed in boating culture. His family also ran Sleipner Group, a company that develops and manufactures products that improve performance, comfort and safety in the maritime industry.
Since joining the family business full time in 1990, Ronny has combined his passion for boating, his natural curiosity and a keen interest in technology to champion new product development and innovation. Today, Ronny serves as CEO of the company, which has seven subsidiaries across Europe and distributors worldwide.
Sleipner specializes in advanced thruster systems that simplify the slow-speed maneuvering of boats and ships when docking, a product that has captured about 70% of the global market in this sector. The company also leads the market in roll stabilization fin systems, which boost comfort on board and make the maritime experience accessible even to those who are prone to motion sickness. In recent years, Sleipner has focused on improving energy efficiency and moving the industry toward more sustainable solutions.
Guided by innovation, technology and an uncompromising commitment to quality, Ronny continues to explore new ideas that enhance boater confidence and foster the industry’s growth.
