Dato’ Foong Wei Kuong supports the global semiconductor industry with testing solutions. 

Dato’ Foong Wei Kuong founded JF Technology in 1999 with the vision of becoming the leading provider of high-performance test interface solutions for the semiconductor industry. 

Wei Kuong started JF Technology in his kitchen as a manufacturer and trader of electronic components. Under his stewardship, he has transformed JF Technology into one of the top three test contacting solutions providers in the world, serving more than 100 multinational corporations worldwide. The company’s solutions validate the integrated circuits that are used in a wide range of products, including smartphones, consumer wearable electronics, medical appliances, electric cars, automotive solid-state storage and smart, connected devices. Research and development have been important from the start — JF Technology has filed 85 patents worldwide and currently owns 38 patents. 

Wei Kuong is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of talent to support the company’s growth program. JF Technology works closely with local universities to offer industry-relevant subjects, such as test engineering, as elective courses to educate the future engineers that the industry needs. His aim is to enhance the employability of graduates and bridge the skill gaps that exist within the industry, elevating Malaysia’s position in the semiconductor value chain.
