Paul B. Scott has expanded Musson Group’s reach through a diverse array of products and services.
Throughout the bustling markets of the Caribbean, Paul B. Scott has steered the Musson Group from its Jamaica-based wholesale roots to become the region’s largest distributor and manufacturer of food and healthcare products. As part of this transformation, Paul founded multiple new ventures that today operate in over 30 countries.
At the heart of Paul’s entrepreneurial success is his focus on three business strategies: food and healthcare, information technology, and insurance. Seprod is the largest food manufacturer in the English-speaking Caribbean, with subsidiaries in six countries. PBS, a solutions and technology group founded in 2001, represents major global brands, operates in 23 countries and employs over 3,000 IT professionals. Under Paul’s leadership, General Accident has grown into the largest property and casualty underwriter in Jamaica and today is the fastest growing insurer in both the Trinidad and Barbados markets.
Paul’s business philosophy takes a human-centric approach to driving growth and empowering employees. His commitment to empowering a 7,000-strong workforce through wealth creation opportunities is evident in seven public listings where his employees have the highest share ownership in the region.
He is also dedicated to building a better Jamaica, as evidenced by his investments and philanthropic efforts around youth and community empowerment. In 2017, Paul was awarded Jamaica’s Order of Distinction national award for his contribution to Caribbean business and in 2023, he was awarded Jamaica’s second highest civilian honor, the esteemed Order of Jamaica, for contributions to economic development.
