EY volunteers have concluded the Money & Me: Youth Financial Empowerment program for Form Four students of SMK Convent Sentul, in collaboration with The Edge Education Foundation (TEEF) for 2022.
EY volunteers recently concluded the Money & Me: Youth Financial Empowerment Program 2022 for 12 Form Four students of SMK Convent Sentul.
This year, a total of 19 EY volunteers kicked off the first couple of lessons virtually in June before moving to physical lessons in July, with easing COVID-19 restrictions.
Over the past 5 months, EY volunteers facilitated classroom sessions to take the students through five modules namely, Save, Spend, Earn, Grow and Give. Various online and physical exercises and activities were carried out during the lessons. The students were encouraged to contribute and participate in the discussions, quizzes and presentations.
At the end of the program in November, the students worked in smaller groups to submit their business proposals and 30-second Instagram videos for the Money & Me Young Entrepreneurs Challenge, where they will compete with other participating schools under the Money & Me program. A prize giving ceremony to announce the winners of this challenge will be held in January 2023.
Puan Fazillay, the Money & Me coordinating teacher for SMK Convent Sentul said, “On behalf of SMK Convent Sentul school, I would like to thank EY especially all the volunteers who worked hard to help the students of Convent Sentul to complete all the modules. This year, we were able to carry out most of the activities face-to-face and I truly appreciate the commitment from EY in this program. The volunteers were very dedicated, responsible and committed in delivering the contents of the module to make it easier for the students to understand. Thank again you, EY.”
