John’s career comprises nearly 20 years of public service and private sector experience. At EY, he heads innovative, market-leading cyber due diligence practices, which help clients navigate the heightened technology and legal cyber risks posed by transactions.
Prior to joining EY, John worked as a Special Agent with the FBI and as an Assistant United States Attorney. He has extensive experience investigating and prosecuting complex, high-profile cases, including international cyber crime rings and nation-state hackers who stole trade secrets from US corporations. Among other accolades, he has received two FBI Director’s Awards and recognition from EY for evolving the transaction practices to meet a disruptive market.
John holds five cyber and privacy certifications, including CIPP-E, CIPP-US, CIPP-G, GISP and GIAC. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School where he earned his JD, and a cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois where he earned a BA in Political Science and History.
