At the outset of the COVID-19 outbreak, our Global Crisis Management Committee began meeting daily to discuss trigger points for escalation and making preparations to deal with this unprecedented situation. We took decisive action to protect the wellbeing of EY people, EY clients, and the communities in which we operate. We invoked travel restrictions to the first-affected countries and instituted comprehensive meeting and events guidance.
We’ve also been helping personnel who were infected, assisting impacted communities, and using local public health guidance to inform our working from home and social distancing policies.
In this extraordinary time, we continue to support clients by:
- Working to maintain audit quality
- Fulfilling our delivery commitments
- Offering advice and counsel as needed
- Engaging with global and local regulators
- Ensuring our IT capabilities allow EY people to provide uninterrupted service
- Focusing on the resiliency of our global delivery systems
Above all, I continue to be encouraged by the resilience and dedication of EY people. We already had a strong culture of flexible and remote working. And now more than ever, EY people are finding ways to navigate work-life balance in this new environment, manage their time, and connect in meaningful ways with each other and with clients. Our culture of compassion and teaming has been on brilliant display and I’m deeply grateful and proud of our organization.
Finally, I know that many of you and your businesses are going through very difficult times. Please know that all of EY stands ready to support you and your people as we Build A Better Working World. Together.
Best regards,
