Rasmina Gurbatova, Founder, Designer and Owner of Resm
Rasmina Gurbatova tells the story of her country with her unique jewelry brand.
The birth of her second child prompted Rasmina Gurbatova to re-evaluate what she wanted from life. After 10 years working at the World Bank, Rasmina realized she wanted to combine her entrepreneurial spirit with her passion for art. So she left her job in 2012 to found Resm, a unique brand of jewelry steeped in the rich history and culture of Azerbaijan.
Resm means “drawing” or “picture” in Turkish and Arabic. A talented artist, Rasmina designs jewelry and accessories. Each piece tells a story with distinctive patterns and decorations. The idea is to teach history through jewelry by telling the tales of Azerbaijan. Resm quickly gained international recognition, and in 2018, Rasmina launched her own production facility. The company also became the first Azerbaijani brand to exhibit at Baselworld, the international jewelry fair in Switzerland.
In her quest to help other women succeed, Rasmina cofounded the Azerbaijan Business Woman Association and is an alumna of the “Vital Voices Grow” program, which celebrates and invests in female leaders.
