With more than 20 years of professional experience, Mayis leads the EY US Fairness Opinions team, spending much of his time advising boards on matters related to valuation and fairness of contemplated transactions to shareholders. Drawing upon the vast network of EY sector specialists, his team provides insights that help boards make informed decisions, effectively perform fiduciary duties and communicate the impact of strategic transactions to stakeholders.
Fairness opinions are obtained in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, SPAC transactions, and private fund deals involving general partner-led secondary transactions, such as fund-to-fund transfers and continuation fund transactions.
Prior to relocating to Dallas and then to Boston, Mayis started his career in Yerevan, where he held roles with the Ministry of Finance of Armenia. Mayis earned an MBA in Finance from Texas Christian University, and master’s and bachelor’s degrees in Economics from Yerevan State University. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
